EXPO 2017 Astana, Kazakhstan chose the 2014 World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi for its first international presence, time to define and shape its profile. The aim was to showcase Kazakhstan’s rich culture and its aspiration for the EXPO 2017 Astana. The EXPO 2017 theme ‘Future Energy’ was delivered in an approachable and interesting way activating visitors and media coverage.

The design and conception of the interactive station had to deliver key facts, but moreover raise interest in EXPO 2017 and Kazakhstan. The twenty iPads were arranged in the form of the Bayterek Tower, a monument symbol of Astana, the capital city. With the use of motion during the idle mode – a transparent spotlight effect invited guests to explore inspiring and beautiful images of Kazakhstan. The colours divided the installation into the three topics. The specific screen that the user touches would also display text and have photos surrounding it.

Luxoom took on the creative direction and was responsible for the entire interactive and digital content in partnership with EXPONENTIAL GROUP. I designed the information flow, iPad layout and content in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Collaborated with a project manager and a software developer for this installation, developed in Unity.
